Spirit Airlines Raises Carry-on Fees to $100
Spirit Airlines announced starting November 6, 2012 carry-on luggage fees paid at the gate will be raised to $100 and carry-on luggage fees paid prior to checking in will go up to $35.
New Theme Park Rides in Southern California
Disney's California Advernture is opening the new Cars Land on June 15. The Cars Land will feature the characters from the Disney-Pixar film, "Cars," several new restaurants and three new rides, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Luigi's Flying Tires and Radiator Springs Racers.
Disneyland is reopening the Matterhorn Bobsled ride on June 15 as well after a six-month renovation.
Universal Studios Hollywood is set to open Transformers: The Ride 3D that features the autobots and decepticons characters and will take guests on a track and through the world of transformers using special effects and high-definition 3D technology.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is planning to open Lex Luther: Drop of Doom which is billed as the world's tallest vertical drop ride on Memorial Day.
Cheap Eats and Drinks - Happy Hour Specials
A great way to save money on food and drinks while enjoying local restaurant/bar scene is to take advantage of happy hour specials offered by bars or restaurants. Generally, happy hours run from 3 or 4 p.m. to 6 or 7 p.m. depending on the establishment and the happy hour specials are offered in bars or bar areas of the restaurants. Getting Around in Southern California
Metro 1-Day, 7-Day and 30-Day Passes
Metro is the public transportation agency in Los Angeles County. If your trip to Southern California is limited to Los Angeles County, you should consider getting Metro's discount passes. Metro's one-way base fare is $1.50.
