Tom's Farms is located at what once was middle of nowhere in Temescal Canyon of Interstate 15 in Corona. What started out as a produce stand, Tom's Farms is now a destination for family fun time.

Although Tom's Farms' stores and restaurants are open on weekdays, the best time to visit is on weekends. That's when live entertainment is in full swing and several of their amusement-park like attractions such as train, carousel and tractor rides are open.

The HOV Trekker crew went to Tom's Farms on Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately, all the rides and attractions were closed. Baby Trekker had to be satisfied with seeing a duck taking a nap in their duck pond and playing with a coin operated excavator.

Tom's Farms has several stores including produce stand, Home Store, its furniture store, candy store and cheese and wine shop. The HOV Trekker crew was little disappointed with the size and selection available at the produce stand. But the price was reasonable compared to local market produce and the crew bought a bunch of organic bananas and strawberries. Baby HOV Trekker couldn't resist the ripe smell of strawberries.

Before the HOV Trekker crew headed back home, we checked out their cheese and wine shop. The shop had a large selection of beer, wine and cheese for sale and offered beer and wine tasting. There is also deli in the back of the shop selling sandwiches and pizzas. The shop also had several pies including cherry, blueberry, and pecan pies.

Even with all of the attractions and candy shop closed, the HOV Trekker crew spent more than an hour at Tom's Farms. It's easy to anticipate that the crew would spend more than a couple of hours to take in all of the attractions and stores. The HOV Trekker crew will definitely come back on a weekend afternoon for the rides, music and food.

L.A. County Fair
The annual Los Angeles County Fair is returning to the Pomona Fairplex. The Fair will be open Wednesday - Sunday, September 3 - October 2, 2011. For the opening Labor Day Weekend, the Fair has discounted $1 admission between 10 AM - 1 PM, $1 22oz. soft drinks between 1 PM - 4 PM, and $1 carnival rides and games between 4 PM - 7 PM. Regular admission fees apply after 1 PM to closing but kids under 5 and under are FREE every day.
