On funding for disaster relief after tornado hit Joplin, Missouri, he told the reporters, 'if there is support for a supplemental, it would be accompanied by support for having pay-fors to that supplemental.

On funding for disaster relief after Hurricane Irene, he stated on Fox News "just like any family would operate when it's struck with disaster, it finds the money it needs to take care of a sick loved one or what have you, and then goes without a trying to buy a new car or put an addition onto the house…But in instances like this, yes there's a federal role, yes we're gonna find the money, we're just gonna need to make sure that there are savings elsewhere to continue to do so.
