James Arness - 2011
An actor best known for playing Marshal Matt Dillon on television series "Gunsmoke" died of natural causes at his home in Brentwood, California. He was 88.

Dr. Jack Kevorkian - 2011
A doctor who championed a terminally-ill patient's righ to die via physician-assisted suicide died of a thrombosis at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was 83.

John Wooden - 2010
A legend in college basketball coaching who was known as the "Wizard of Westwood" and won ten NCAA Basketball Championships in 12 year period at UCLA died of natural causes at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, California. He was 99.

June 5
Ronald Reagan - 2004
A former actor who served as California Governor and the 40th President of the United States died of pneumonia at his home in Bel Air, California. He suffered Alzheimer's disease prior to his death. He was 93.

June 6
Robert F. Kennedy - 1968
A brother of President John F. Kennedy and the U.S. Senator from New York who was campaigning for the Democratic Party nomination for President was shot three times and died after winning the California primary. He was 42.

Spencer Tracy - 1967
An actor who appeared in 75 films and won two Academy Awards for Best Actor consecutively died of a heart attack. He was 67.

June 11
John Wayne - 1979
An Oscar winning actor who became an American icon on screen and known for his conservative political views died of stomach cancer at the UCLA Medical Center. He was 72.

June 12
Gregory Peck - 2003
An actor who was nominated for five Academy Awards and won the Best Actor Oscar for "To Kill a Mockingbird" died of bronchopneumonia at home in Los Angeles, California. He was 87.

Ed McMahon - 2009
A comedian, television show host and announcer who was most famous for his work as Johnny Carson's sidekick and announcer on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" for 30 years died at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He was 86.

June 25
Michael Jackson - 2009
A singer and songwriter known as the "King of Pop" whose career started with his brothers as a part of "Jackson 5" and move onto prolific solo career died of drug overdose. He was 50.

June 27
Jack Lemmon - 2001
An actor who starred in more than 60 films and won two Oscars died of colon cancer and metastatic cancer of the bladder in Los Angeles, California. He was 76.

June 29
Katharine Hepburn - 2003
An actress who appeared in movies, on stage and television and won four Academy Awards for Best Actress died at the Hepburn family home in Fenwick, Connecticut. She was 96.
